Cookie policy

This document is a template and requires legal review before production use.
The table below describes what the code does today. It is not a substitute for legal advice, and it stops being accurate the moment a new tool is added, so keep it in step with src/lib/consent/registry.ts.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies like localStorage and sessionStorage do the same job and are covered by the same rules, so they are listed here too. Some are needed for the site to work; the rest are only used if you say yes.
Cookies WorkAmos uses today
WorkAmos currently loads no analytics tools, no advertising pixels and no third-party tracking scripts. Only the strictly necessary items below are in use.

Categories we ask about
- Strictly necessary: Required for WorkAmos to work at all: keeping you signed in, securing forms, and remembering this cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
- Preferences: Remembers choices you make so the site feels the same next time, for example your light or dark theme and your preferred language.
- Analytics: Helps us understand which pages and jobs people actually use, so we can improve them. Measurement only, never used to target you.
- Marketing: Lets us measure whether our ads reach the right people and show you WorkAmos jobs on other websites.
Nothing in the preferences, analytics or marketing categories is loaded before you actively agree. If you never answer the banner, they stay off.
Services that are not cookies but still reach third parties
Some things on this site cause requests to servers we do not run. None of them sets a cookie or tracks you, but each one discloses your IP address to the provider:
- Google Fonts and Fontshare: the site's typefaces are requested from these CDNs on every page.
- jsDelivr: the homepage animation library is loaded from this CDN.
- Unsplash: some illustrative photographs are served directly from Unsplash's image CDN.

Payments and email
Paying for membership sends you to Stripe's own checkout pages, where Stripe's cookie notice and privacy policy apply. Transactional emails are sent through Resend. Neither places cookies on WorkAmos pages. {{TODO: confirm and link to both providers' notices}}
Changing or withdrawing your choice
Open at any time. It is also permanently available in the footer of every page. Turning a category off stops the corresponding scripts from loading again and clears the storage we can reach.
You can also delete cookies directly in your browser settings. Deleting the workamos_cookie_consent cookie makes the banner appear again on your next visit.

When we ask again
Your choice is stored for 180 days. We also ask again whenever the consent version changes, which happens when we add a tool or change what a category covers, so an old "yes" never silently covers something new.
